Since its establishment in 2001, the Univeristy of Malakand (UOM) has grown into a dynamic and vibrant institution that contributes significantly not only to academia, research but also to community development. PR&MC at Univeristy of Malakand is a platform of effectual communication between the University and Public, which is essential for building strong relationship with both internal and external stakeholders of UOM.
Vision:
PR&MC aspires to establish a productive and effective communication channel in order to foster constructive engagement between the university and community.
Mission:
The sole aim and objectives of PR&MC is the distribution of information about Our Institution's mission, policies, and practices to the public in a positive, consistent, and trustworthy manner through media relations both inside and outside.
The Public Relations & Media Cell (PR&MC) of the University of Malakand proudly engages a team of dynamic student volunteers who actively contribute to the University’s communication, media, and outreach initiatives. These volunteers are provided with valuable opportunities to gain hands-on experience in content creation, photography, videography, event coverage, social media management, and public engagement. Through their participation, students not only enhance their professional and creative skills but also serve as ambassadors of the University’s positive image. The PR&MC remains committed to mentoring and training young minds to become effective communicators and responsible digital citizens.
In addition to volunteer engagement, the PR&MC offers structured internship opportunities to students of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. These internships are designed to provide practical exposure and bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world media practices. Under the mentorship of experienced professionals, student interns receive hands-on training in journalism, reporting, news writing, broadcasting, and media production. They are also involved in event coverage, social media coordination, and public communication tasks, helping them develop a strong professional foundation and confidence for future media careers.
