About Public Relations & Media Cell (PR&MC)

Since its establishment in 2001, the Univeristy of Malakand (UOM) has grown into a dynamic and vibrant institution that contributes significantly not only to academia, research but also to community development. PR&MC at Univeristy of Malakand is a platform of effectual communication between the University and Public, which is essential for building strong relationship with both internal and external stakeholders of UOM.

 

Vision & Mission

Vision:

PR&MC aspires to establish a productive and effective communication channel in order to foster constructive engagement between the university and community.

Mission:

  • To keep all Departments and Offices of the University up to date on significant initiatives, developments and newly established programs.
  • The projection of university positive image and it's role and involvement in local community and country's social and economic growth.
 

Aims & Objectives

The sole aim and objectives of PR&MC is the distribution of information about Our Institution's mission, policies, and practices to the public in a positive, consistent, and trustworthy manner through media relations both inside and outside.

 

Functions

  • The PR&MC committee will directly interact with the top management of the Univeristy about significant internal and external organizational events, and further reports these events to all Dailies.
  • To disseminate information about academic activities, research and projects at UOM.
  • To send advertisements and news pieces to the newspapers regarding University's events & programs (e.g., workshops, seminars, conferences etc.), and to have the news published in Dailies.
  • To invite press/media to the Univeristy to give coverage of the Univeristy functions and events.
  • To conceive and encourage promotional efforts to bring forth the positive image of the Univeristy, such as creating attractive pamphlets, banners or brochures and distributing them to the public and students when required.
  • The PR&MC will work closely with the Web Admin., on the design and content of the website (in line with branding initiatives). PR&MC will provide content for periodically updating UOM website including achievements of the institute/faculty/students, alumni network etc.
  • For content creations and designing, training and mentoring of the students of Dept. of CS&IT, and Journalism & Mass Communication Department.
  • The PR&MC will maintain online presence on social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc.) to project soft and positive image of UOM.
  • University’s Prospectus, Newsletters and Annual Report will be prepared in close coordination with the PR&MC to ensure uniformity in content and design in line with brand guidelines and image building initiatives.
  • A complete brand identity including templates for letterheads, visiting cards, posters, and all other stationary will be prepared to ensure uniformity and effectiveness of image building efforts.
