BIC UOM organized a one day training on “E-Commerce and Amazon” in collaboration with SMEDA (Under NBDP), ORIC UOM, and Faculty of Information Technology, UOM. Students from Departments of CS&IT, Software Engineering, and Management & Commerce attended the training. The event was also attended by Faculty members of Departments of CS&IT and Software Engineering. Ms Rehma Riaz, Regional Business Coordinator SMEDA, and Mr. Ali Laiq, Trainer SMEDA represented SMEDA-NBDP. Prof. Dr Jameel Ahmad, Dean Faculty of Information Technology chaired the training session. The training was coordinated by Mr. Fazli Subhan, Manager BIC and Mr. Maqsood Mazhar, Manager RO - ORIC, UOM. Students learned about the vast opportunities available in the e-commerce sector and specifically Amazon. At the end of the training it was decided by both parties (UOM and SMEDA) that more indepth and hands-on trainings will be organized for students of UOM in the near future. The delgation also discussed avenues of future collaboration and two more training opportunities by SMEDA are planned for next week. These trainings are a result of SMEDA top management’s visit to UOM on request of Prof. Dr. Rashid Ahmad, Vice Chancellor UOM and the subsequent introductory session by SMEDA officials, arranged for HODs and faculty members of UOM, on directives of the Honourable Vice Chancellor.
